An Overdue Celebration of Little Epic

Last month Jemma Green handed me eight copies of Little Epic, a brand new zine. It's the delightful brainchild of Jemma and her sister Katie, and it combines a staggering and wonderful variety of poems and illustrations. The Green sisters gathered as many talented writers and artists as they could find and Little Epic is the result.

And I'm in it.

Did I not mention I'm in it?

I'm really excited about this. Words and pictures belong together and the amount of thought the Greens have poured into pairing each writer with each artist is evident. The illustrator assigned to my two poems (The Meeting and Aunt Lizzie) is the superb Ilaria Benedetti. Her talent and intuition is so great than on seeing her art I felt someone had reached into my mind and drawn what I was trying to say with my poems, despite the fact we'd had no personal contact beyond a couple of e-mails.

Little Epic is for sale at Katie Green's online shop. There's also previews and a list of everyone contributing. For a picture of the zine next to some fabulous shoes head over to Emma Preuss's blog

  1. Hi Jemma! Some days ago I give a copy of Little Epic to a frend of mine and yesterday she stopped me to say: "I've read the poems you illustrated, they are beautiful!" :)
